Jefna Comet Over Brushbow (The Annoying One) Comet is from an accidental mating (a repeat of a planned mating the year before that threw some very typey pups). She is a parti-eyed white & black, with colour only on her headpiece and base of tail. With the recent disappointment of our own Harley (Brushbow Electraglide) deciding she was a career and not a family girl, and us needing a pup for the team soon, we decided to buy in for the first time in thirteen years from our friend Jenny Berry. Comet's sire Bill (Brushbow's Balto) is out of our own Magic (Brushbow Kind O'Magic), the second of our home and linebred bitches we selected to outcross to the Zero line. Comet's dam Smudge (Cheechako's Sophaya) is Harley's half sister and a bitch we broke to harness as a yearling and who has been a regular member in our teams ever since. Bill and Smudge actually love each other and fret if they are apart, despite there being other Sibes in the Berry household. Bill is allowed to enter the whelping box and clean the babies shortly after birth. We've never seen such a devoted pair and no doubt they conspired to have one more 'go' when they heard that Bill was shortly for the snip! Comet was in harness by 5 months of age and is proving to be a Smudge clone - their solid bodies continually in pull mode and nothing persuading them otherwise - walking nicely just isn't in their vocabulary. Backlines are taut to breaking point. Since her arrival at Brushbow, Comet has shown a hint of possible working stamina to come by regularly tiring each and every dog through play. When they are all played out, she starts on the humans with her tennis ball. When that suddenly goes missing (!), it's a request for more food, and off she starts again! She likes to have all the family in her sights and winges for them if they leave the room without permission. Hence her nickname. Date of Birth: 14.4.01.
